Our Plan vs. Other Providers: A Side-by-Side Look
Part 3 of 3 — Home Comfort Plans, Explained
In Part 1, we broke down how our plan works. In Part 2, we looked at how the standard rental model operates across the industry. Now let's put them next to each other, rule by rule.
Why the Differences Matter
The biggest gap is ownership. Most providers are, structurally, in the business of renting you equipment for as long as you're willing to pay — and that's fine if that's genuinely what you want. But if you'd rather work toward actually owning your furnace, water heater, or AC unit, a plan that only ever rents to you can't get you there, no matter how many years you stay on it.
The second gap is what happens when equipment fails completely, not just when it needs a repair. A plan that only promises "repair coverage" sounds reassuring right up until your unit reaches the end of its life and can't be fixed — at that point, the fine print starts to matter a great deal. Our plan closes that gap with a straightforward replacement guarantee, so there's no ambiguity about what happens next.
The third gap is exit terms. Long lock-in periods and buyout prices that climb with the age of the equipment both work against the homeowner over time. Our plan is built the opposite way: the longer you're on it, the more equity you've already built, and if you ever want to stop, you're only responsible for what's left — nothing more.
Frequently Asked Questions
Depends on the equipment and provider — worth getting a personalized quote. But cost is only part of it: the real difference is what each payment gets you, equity vs. indefinite rental, guaranteed replacement vs. repair-only.
In most cases, yes. Reach out with your current setup and we'll walk you through what switching involves, including your existing equipment or agreement.
No — installation is included either way. The difference is where your monthly payments go afterward, not what you pay upfront.
Knowing their payments go somewhere. They're building toward ownership instead of renting indefinitely, with a fee-free way out if plans change.
Depends on your equipment, timeline, and whether ownership matters to you long-term. A quick consultation is the best way to compare the real terms side by side.
